Self control

Hold yourself accountable…

Let’s begin immediately! Everyone is different! It took me a while to embrace my differences. I was that person who wanted to fit in and be accepted. I felt as though I had to blend in with my surroundings. My main focus was my appearance for the longest time. I lacked self-respect and genuine kindness; literally, my conscience became numb. You become a product of your environment in several ways. My grandma used to tell me to embrace who I was. To be original and to love me! She was always attentive to potential threats and willing to guide me toward the best decision. I became unruly for a while and had no idea of the lifestyle I began welcoming myself to. I am not here to dictate how you should live your life. I write to help us discover the power within ourselves that we often overlook. That power is ultimately useless without the help of divine intervention.”I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The ability to be self-aware is truly amazing! It’s fascinating to recognize how our actions affect us. Imagine living with yourself every day and seeing how your thoughts become reality. We have no choice but to think before we act, whether our thoughts are good or bad. Self-control is essential! By being aware of our thoughts before acting on them, we can avoid problems. I appreciate Jesus for helping me understand this superpower, as it has given me a new perspective on how to handle life’s challenges. In a world full of disasters, how we respond to them is what truly matters. I now understand that taking control of my decisions is crucial, as they determine the outcome of any challenge I face.

Developing a new mindset takes time, but with Jesus, you can come to some mind-blowing realizations. When faced with the irritations of life, it’s important to remain calm and collected. Self-control can be exercised in various ways, whether dealing with others or going through trials and tribulations. It’s crucial to remember that nobody’s perfect and to distinguish between genuine mistakes and intentional wickedness. Realizing how messed up one’s own thoughts can be is a deep process, but accepting reality is necessary to become a better person. For a long time, I was unaware of my own issues and the possibility of personal growth.

I am a work in progress, and there are days when I feel ashamed of the choices I make. Do you ever experience moments where you know you could have handled a situation better? Those feelings of self-disgust motivates me to strive for self-improvement every day. My ultimate goal is to secure my place in heaven by making better choices. Although making poor choices is a natural human tendency, I am becoming more aware of my thoughts and striving to make fewer negative choices. My desire is to be known as a trustworthy and righteous woman, not someone who lacks self-control and causes problems. When I reflect on this, I realize that having such a negative mindset is uncomfortable.“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To conclude, each blog that I publish is a personal testimony of mine. I write for myself and for anyone who is looking for that sense of hope! I am sharing these thoughts because I understand that life is brief and I believe we all could benefit from the understanding that there is more to life than we realize. I’m open about sharing my experiences because it’s a common part of everyone’s journey. Jesus has described the type of people we are in detail. I am sharing this because having a relationship with the Most High gives me purpose. His words have helped me become aware of the immoral behaviors that humans possess and guided me toward the actual source of danger. Jesus is here to save our lives and I promise you if you open the door and let him in… you’ll float too. LOL I’m sorry I had to have a silly moment, but seriously! Jesus is blunt with us but, there’s nothing more valuable than a friend who always tells the truth. Additionally, he is all-knowing, and always has the solutions to my problems. I have complete faith in him and he has never misguided me. I am certain he never will!

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkeness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: agaimst such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. “

Galatians 5: 16-24 kjv
